GX550 30 Day Stop Sale?

Just got the call! Our OT has been released from the hold and is its way from the Port in Long Beach to Houston. We happened to already be on our way to the dealership when they called so it made our test drive in the GX they had there even better.

It was our first time seeing anything beyond the pre-production units at the auto show months ago and wow!! Even the base premium rode/drove perfect! Zero vibration, great feel to the steering and the turning radius… makes our JKU feel like turning a semi truck! And the seats are comfortable as heck even in the premium. I’m 6’3” and I was concerned about how comfortable I’d be on long trips and man I may actually be most excited about how comfortable the thing is. They also have an OT+ inside that we sat in and it was even better! So glad we’ve waited and I’d wait even longer if I had to do it all over again.

For context, we’re coming from years of Jeep Wranglers, her daily was a Grand Cherokee Summit, and my ‘22 Power Wagon but this GX looks like it will give the PW a run for its money in comfortably.

Today is a good day. Hope you all get the call soon!

The news of the engine recall is having a ripple effect.

Seems kind of ludicrous that a Toyota dealer would not accept their own product. I know there is always an exeption however I would imagine the LX600 would most likely still be under warranty, so without specifics I would "take the article with a grain of salt" with all due respect.

Not sure if being under warranty is relevant. Dealers don't take vehicles in trade because they're going to drive them. They're going to resell them. If the used market value of a vehicle tanks because engines are grenading, if I were a dealer I wouldn't want to take it as a trade-in.

Congrats ridecanyon. Was yours part of the 5/17, 56 day hold?

I was told years ago by my sales manager that the best time to trade-in my Lexus or Mercedes is while it was still under warranty. The dealer could claim any issues under warrenty so there would not be a deduction in value. It also made it easier for them to classify the vehicle under Certified for resale.

People only read headlines.
The last Lexus to be possibly involved was the LX 600 produced Nov 2022 and prior.
I'm not sure it's that clear. There are absolutely Tundra engines failing that are outside of the recall dates, including 2024 model year vehicles as well as hybrid models. I don't think we really know yet exactly what this looks like. But maybe you have info that I haven't seen.

OK. How much would you pay right now for a 2022 Tundra with a V35A, even if it's under warranty. I wouldn't touch one.

Congrats ! Which dealer ? When did your OT get into QC ?
Good to hear about the room since I too am close to 6'3".

Seems like Long Beach port GX are being released from QC. In the Land Cruiser forum as well. My OT+ plus has been at the Portland port since May 1st and still on hold. My car was supposed to be here end of May. Been on the official QC hold may 17. I see that cars that landed after my date at Long Beach are being released from QC so weird nothing in Portland has been released.

That's interesting. They're either moving faster there are just said... ahh F-it, let them go.

My OT+ is at the Long Beach port right now and my dealer said it's still on a hold. But it just got in June 14.
