Excellent stuff thanks YesitsqkOnce I have mine in the next coming weeks I will be taking it into my friends audio shop and having them do a professional synopsis of the ML system. I’ll report back in here with what I find out

Obviously we all listen to different music but I am a big treble and bass guy. I think it’s great at producing low end bass.so I haven’t spent a ton of time with mine but my initial take.
It isn’t a dreadful system from the drivers seat using CarPlay. Have mostly just listened to classic rock and the clarity is really quite good, definitely pickup a lot more subtle tones in the music that I can’t say I notice in My other vehicles ( BMW HK system, GMC Bose system, or my MB c class Burmester system). That’s a credit where credit is due from me.
I can’t say I have heard or felt much of anything in the way of bass however, which I think is where 90% of the complains seem to be triangulating to?
More bass would probably be nice, though I haven’t really tried any music with much kick yet.
I have also not played at all with any eq settings either on the phone or vehicle so will see if I can’t dial things in better.
Been using wireless CarPlaywhat is everyone running for music source?
I’ve only tried using Apple CarPlay so far.
Bluetooth? What about high res Audio sources?
Wireless vs wired CarPlay?
I suppose some people use androids?
This is far from a BAD audio system. Not convinced, yet, that it’s an elite system though which is how it’s been marketed.

Hate to share… but Lexus ML pre 2022 is worlds beyond the current premium (21+sp) system. I don’t know what happened. FWIW, we are a 2004,2009,2012,2021,2022 and 2024 Lexus GX and LX household and our two newest are complete fails on the sound system from prior AMAZING ML systems. It’s not a downgrade from my perspective but a flat out failure and disaster from my perspective. This is our 8th Lexus across GX and LX models (current garage is 2009 GX, 2022 LX and 2024 GX) and the 2009 ML system (all upgraded) is the best now. I traded in a 2016 XC90 for the ‘24 GX and the sound system feels like I went to a GM product.
I was talking to the dealer and apparently, the rear sub on some of the models has been defective or not connected to the system. In Sept- We bought a new 2024 GX550 Luxury + and I agree with everyone’s comments- the stereo has zero bottom end. Pretty disappointing to be honest! Using my same phone for streaming YouTube red- my truck (‘18 GLS63) crushes it with the stock stereo.
Planning to install a single JL 10W7 to help with the base department.
This is our first Lexus.
I will check it out!! Most anemic system I’ve ever experienced!I was talking to the dealer and apparently, the rear sub on some of the models has been defective or not connected to the system.
Try playing this track with the bass eq on max and check if the rear sub in the tailgate is functioning.
Bass Test Track
Bass Test Track, but on youtube
Doesn't the engine noise only come on in the Sport modes?I had my GX in for service today, and asked about the ML Audio. Dealer said it was working as designed. But I also had them turn off the fake engine noise that is pumped into the car. I swear that the sound from the ML system now sounds a bit better. I do have the bass turned up to almost max, and mid and treble in the middle - and was able to move the front/rear bias towards the rear with the system still sounding nice.
The wife got in the car and immediately said she thought it was sounding better too, and I hadn't even mentioned that I had changed any settings.
Not going to say it is perfect, but i think turning the engine noise off helped the audio.
That is what I thought as well, but possibly there is a little in normal. I have noticed a little more outside noise in the cabin, not sure if it was due to a tire rotation or if they also turned off the active noise canceling.Doesn't the engine noise only come on in the Sport modes?
