I have an opportunity to buy a 2024 Overtrail that should be coming in within 2 weeks. The price of the 2025 is about $3,600 more. I don't need the aux. switches. The memory seats, 1 inch lift, and air compressor are nice, but not true needs. Would I be making a mistake buying the 2024? Just wanted some feedback. Thanks.

If the memory seats, lift, and air compressor are not deal breakers then I would opt for the 2024 and save some cash for other things.

How I approach it: if it was the model year but the lift, air compressor, and aux switches were a $3600 optional package, would you go for it?

There's also the opportunity cost of not having the GX "now". Might matter more if for example you had a lease that was ending soon, etc.

Don't forget to think about the options it comes with. There's some options like the roofrack that are going to add around 1800 bucks. I found a '24 OT (not plus) and was happy with the options (or lack there of). I think the options are another thing to consider. In other words, if it's got the options/color you want on the '24, I'd probably take it and be happy with it.

I just got the 24 around 2 weeks ago. Had the same question. But a couple of extras don’t make much of a difference. In the only person who drives it (do I need the memory seats?), the overtrail comes loaded from the factory (do I need aux buttons? If so, I can add them on later), 1” lift is not much (if they increase 4-5” of water fording, now that’s a change). Happy with the 24. If none of those “extras” is a deal breaker, go for the 24. It is a great car. I was off-roading today in Florida…… is a beast.

For me, aside from never having bought a first-model-year vehicle, if i was buying a '24, I'd have gone with an OT+ mainly just to get the memory seat, steering wheel and mirrors. Now that those are standard on all trims for the '25, I should save myself money by getting a '25 OT vs a '24 OT+. Not interested in themed color lighting, the Levinson system or massaging seats.
