Our Premium Plus had a rattling front passenger door since day one. Sometimes its louder, sometimes its faint, sometimes its quiet, but when it appears, its annoying. When we play music with deep bass, it becomes more apparent, like there is a lose screw or object behind or near the door. Car has been in the dealership for a week and they are waiting on Lexus for some answers.

Not disappointed, as I expect us first generation owners know what we are getting into buying a newly designed vehicle. Just curious if anyone else has rattling doors and what was the fix?

Yes, I tried so many different things to isolate the sound. It was passenger door behind the arm rest area. It was driving me crazy. I took it it the dealership and they heard it as well. They worked on it for 4 hours, and eventually fixed it. I think it had something to do with the door handle and latch mechanism, they did not document any details in the paperwork

Just got our GX back from the dealership. It was the same problem as yours. There was something loose within the inside front passenger door handle/latch They even brought in a Lexus factory tech to check and test drive. I don't think this is a coincidence but I am sure they will fix it on newer GXs :)

Glad they found the issue and fixed it. Sounds identical to issue/fix with my passenger door. No problems since, was fixed about 2 months ago

Thank you for this info! I only picked mine up on Friday and, besides my wireless phone charger being a bit finicky, I didn't have any complaints until today. I drove her this morning and no issues, got back in the car after an appointment and, all of a sudden, it sounds like there are cookie sheets rattling around in my front passenger door. This is my first Lexus but I've had terrible luck with vehicles having really annoying noise issues. Felt confident I'd be safe with a Lexus so when I heard that I began to wonder if I am actually losing it/should give up and just walk everywhere :) Thankfully my daughter was with me and was able to get a video recording of the noise, which was loud enough to be caught on video even over the engine noise. I'm (my husband) taking her in tomorrow for a previously scheduled service appt & will mention this issue. Thanks again!

Congrats on your GX! You are safe with a Lexus, with a new model on the first year, there will be niggles here and there and the dealership should take care of you. After the fix on our passenger door, the noise never came back. Ours now have squeaking brakes and I will have them take a look at next oil change.

Thank you! I fully expected some issues. I'm still loving her. Hopefully the dealership can get her taken care of quickly. I forwarded this thread to my husband so he can show them exactly what we believe the issue is. I hope your brakes are an easy fix.

It sounds similar to issue I had (see above) and was fixed at dealership. Have someone press (outward direction, not down) on the passenger door arm rest when going over bumpy road and see if if the noise goes away. I'm sure in your trouble shooting you ruled out a very simple rattle I sometimes hear--seat belt latch rattling against door when no one is in the passenger seat.

Thanks for this! It came at the perfect time. Just dropped her off at 1030 this morning. My daughter tried to perform the strategy you mentioned but she’s a featherweight so couldn’t manage to stop the rattle but I explained it to the service consultant so hopefully someone with a little more weight behind them can test it out. Whenever we’ve heard it, there’s always been a front passenger so definitely not the seatbelt.
