Hello! Recently had our 2024 GX 550 with 23k miles start making this very loud ticking/knocking noise on start up. Does anyone else's do this? It seems to stop after about 20 seconds. Hasn't done this for the first 2 years of ownership. No codes or lights for now. Dealership has seen the video and tried to play it off as high pressure fuel pump but there's no way it should be this loud and just starting. We aren't part of the engine recall that I know of yet. Just curious if anyone else has ran into this.

I would take your vehicle to another Lexus dealership and have the service manager get involved for a credible explanation and solution. Good luck.
Our first Lexus was a 2007 ES and with 4400 miles on it, I took the vehicle in for the loud knocking sound coming from the engine. The noise started when you first started the engine up and ended approximately one mile later. The service dept. stated it was "piston slap" and they replaced the engine. They said once the engine warmed up and the oil circulated was the reason the noise went away. Hopefully it is something simple to fix. Whatever the problem, you will be furnished with a loaner while your vehicle is being repaired. Good luck.
