Since the GX550 is a brand new platform, I thought we could have a thread where members could check in periodically with their mileage and whether or not they have had any issues during ownership. Hoping to see some high mileage vehicles with little to no problems listed soon.

I’m 12 days in with my OT with ~350 miles. Happy to report I’ve had no issues so far. :)

10 days in~1500 ish miles on 3 day trip home from SoCal. Dealer. No issues so far but happy to see this forum doing its job informing members and providing info/resources helping others who are experiencing problems.

2 months. 700 miles. No major problems. I do occasionally get a transmission clunk when driving at low speeds. Almost like the tranny doesn’t know if it should downshift or stay in gear and then decides to downshift last minute.

Still stuck at 12.6mpg at 1200 miles. (city driving, zero hills, keeping the eco light on 95% of the time) I’m starting to think I was lied to 😆😆

12.6?! That’s rough. I have a 3 mile commute to my office twice a week so I don’t pay too much attention to mpg. My dash says 17.2 though.

I have mine set on Eco and it has plenty of power. I am averaging 20 MPG consistently with a mix of 70 highway 30 city. Also when you shut off your car every time it will show your MPG for evey "trip" you take. There are a lot of times i am in the low 20's.

So about 1 month into my OT+, have put on 479 miles and averaging 13.3mpg almost 90% around town. Mine is on ECO and my drivers pulse score is 'excellent.' Obviously driving something with the aerodynamics of a Maytag dryer is not helping mpg

I'm at 6562 miles and my calculated average is 14.04 mpg. The average indicated mileage on the dash display is 13.17.

After I installed my larger tires, I started correcting my calculated mileage by 7.192% based on known distance traveled over the ground vs. distance indicated on the odometer. The difference based on manufacturer's published tire diameter is 5.83%. I went with 7.192%. Doesn't make much of a difference....only 0.18 mpg "better" mileage using 7.192% vs. 5.83%.

I drove in ECO for a good 1,000 miles and I didn't notice much of a difference. I've been driving in normal for the past couple tanks. I only drop into Sport+ if I have to really get off the line to merge or get over a few lanes. I'm pretty sure the gas savings earned by tip-toeing around in ECO mode are more than eclipsed by the facts of life that have you starting & stopping in city traffic all week vs. nice long & steady highway runs all week.

My overall impression is that y'all getting 20+ mph must have road tires and optimal conditions such as all highway with a good tailwind. I'm over here doing everything I can to tank my mileage with the lift & bigger tires, roof rack, steel bumper & winch on the way, etc.

At 3 months a bit over 7300 miles no issues but they do need to work on some of their safety controls example an alarm goes off to tell you that the drivers eyes have been distracted. Well I decided to see if it always goes off. I closed my left eye and roll for 10 miles and it alarm didn’t go off so it’s marching your eyes it’s gotta do a better job.

I'm at 5 months and just over 7300 miles and I'm at 17.69mpg average, but you can see the variation in the attached image. Mine is an OT with stock tires, and I have run 93 octane fuel only, so far.

I filled up yesterday morning and I was on the highway within 2 miles and cruised for about 20 miles. I set my cruise control at 65 mph which kept me at 64-65 mph indicated (the adaptive cruise always seems to settle the truck at 1 mph lower than where you set it). I checked my actual speed with my iphone app and 64=69 actual mph for me. I hit 17.0 mpg, a new all-time high for me. I was also passed by every car & truck on the road, an old lady on a moped, a guy on a bicycle, and a little girl on rollerskates.

I've driven another 120+ miles of mixed highway and surface streets since then and I'm back at 14.3 mpg indicated on the dash. I did a good 80 miles on the highway this morning in traffic and I tried to keep it around 70 mph max. I'm also going easy on the gas in city traffic and generally trying to be conscious of good mileage.

The city driving just tanks the mileage so quickly on these trucks. I was really hoping to get around 16 to 17 average when they announced the 15 to 21 / 17 mpg combined estimate. Oh well, I can live with 14. Still need to be able to carry more fuel though.
