My experience and I've mentioned it on earlier threads is my engine/transmision works flawlessly in normal mode. The 10 speed setup had me a bit concerned however the Direct Shift engineering has surprised me with quick gear selection when accelerating. I have felt the downshifts when coasting...
Not an issue in fact my service manager asked if I wanted to use my 10k complimentary service as a credit for the oil change. I said no since I will do another oil change at 5-6K miles. He is “old school”and understands my reasoning. Any engine builder knows the importance of changing the oil...
Delivered May 3rd, Premium Plus. My GPS does not accurately flip from day/night view and there is a narrow strip at the top of the screen that is not clear. The tech person at the dealership said it should be corrected on the next software update.
No leaks or issues with the paint (Caviar)...
I’m going to verify if my oil was replaced (by the dealer) with a Toyota product and not another brand of oil from a drum such as Valvoline or Mobil. I have always used Castrol in my high performance cars so I’m fine with that product. I will be upset if a Toyota product was not used based on...
I have the Premium Plus and no issues with Climate Control in fact it works much better than the past model GX. I set Climate Control to auto and the seats (Front) will automatically cool down based on temp setting. I live in Texas and so far Spring has been very Hot I have not tried the...
A review would be nice after you have a chance to put some miles on it. Not many reviews since there are not many GX's on the road. I've provided a review and just love my GX. Hoping you will be just as pleased as I am.
Thanks for the YouTube suggestion. I watched the video regarding his daughter’s new car oil changes and it’s “old school” version of changing oil especially during the break in period. Already changed my oil at 1200 miles and will do it again at 5K miles to play it safe. Also the new engine...
You are correct, Lexus should provide a response clarifying the hold on initial builds. There may not be any issue regarding the engine specific to the 2024 GX however changing the oil early and more often is never a bad idea! So far I feel lucky… after every wash I check for leaks and the paint...
My comment was regarding the benefit of a higher trade-in value while still under warranty. The first question I get is the auto still under warranty... thats all! I've traded-in well over a dozen Lexus and Mercedes and that's been my experience.
I was told years ago by my sales manager that the best time to trade-in my Lexus or Mercedes is while it was still under warranty. The dealer could claim any issues under warrenty so there would not be a deduction in value. It also made it easier for them to classify the vehicle under Certified...
Please keep us posted on your results.... thank you! So far our GX's are not included in the (engine) recall so lets hope it stays that way. I am so impressed with my new GX it is a pleasure to drive!
I have a Caviar Premium Plus, my original choice was white or black and I ended up with Cavier. I would rather have white, my wife likes Caviar. I took my GX in for a precautionary oil change at 1200 miles my service tech loves the Cavier over white... clearly personal preference!
Seems kind of ludicrous that a Toyota dealer would not accept their own product. I know there is always an exeption however I would imagine the LX600 would most likely still be under warranty, so without specifics I would "take the article with a grain of salt" with all due respect.
My two cents… it appears from the spreadsheet that the issues happened while still under warranty (thank goodness). For a minute… take away the concern regarding the engine and the new GX (mine is the Premium +) is a pleasure to drive and a modern luxury body on frame SUV. The 10 speed direct...
There is the base warranty and then the extra warranty for the drivetrain. I suspect if any of the “unknown hold issues” pop up it should fall well within the warranty time frame. If I am still concerned I can purchase an extended warranty prior to the original expiring. It’s too late for me to...
Premium Plus, Caviar, black/grey interior, HUD, traffic jam control, sun roof. Purchased May 3rd, 1300 miles. I did not test drive prior to purchasing since I owned 5 previous GX’s (never had an issue) I figured it would be reliable. The ride is firm and smooth, tracks straight and gives you...
Not sure how many of you have been watching the NHL Playoffs. If you have you’ve seen countless commercials from Toyota singularity focused on the GX550. I know media is pre purchased but it’s silly how much money Toyota has spent on marketing the GX without having the product available.
I have a friend who strongly suggested I sell my GX premium plus because of a recent article about the difficulty someone had trading in an older Tundra. I mentioned the time frame for the recall did not include my build date or model and I have a 6 year 70K warranty. He was in a panic about how...
Just had my first oil change (approx 1200 miles) for cautionary reasons or old habit with a new vehicle. My service tech confirmed there is an issue with the sunroof drainage tube. He hasn’t received any notice for GX’s already on the road. The issue results in water on the floor board if the...
I follow this forum hopefully to find out the reason or reasons for the hold-up. I'm one of the lucky ones who has a GX however if there's a major issue I want to insure I get it resolved quickly. So I appreciate everyones input and hope the release happens soon. It will be worth the wait...
I am somewhat dumbfounded why there is a hold-up on New GX’s. I’ve had my Premium Plus since May 3rd. I have one minor issue should be resolved when I take it in for my first scheduled service. I plan to change the oil next week just to play if safe. No paint issues, no leaky sunroof (taken to...
Minor issue, when I have the screen in Navigation mode there is a narrow shadow at the top of the screen. I spoke to the tech who said he would look into it. A couple of days ago he told me it should be fixed with a scheduled update soon to happen. Also there are times when the screen...
Question for you, would you suggest an engine flush to help reduce the possibility of bearing failure? If I remember correctly (a few years ago) whenever I purchased a new car from Lexus I had a 1K service that included an oil change. It use to be highly recommended to change your oil/filter...
Yes both pair of my sun glasses are polarized. This is the reason why I was not interest in the HUD however I did not have a choice. I will say… it is nice while driving at night.
