I wouldn't necessarily take the dealer's word for it. Educate yourself and make an informed decision. I personally noticed the oil on the 1,000 mile change was dirtier than I expected, I cannot imagine what it would look like at 10K miles. Lexus also indicates that there is no require...
Interesting that the molybdenum levels were high in your sample. While I assume that they are using the same oil from Lexus/Toyota, they may have used another oil which could explain the difference as moly is used in oils to reduce friction and increase fuel economy. You can get the same weight...
Blackstone sent my analysis after my first oil change at 960 miles. Copper ppm is high as expected due to the initial break in but otherwise looking ok.
I changed my oil just prior to the 1000 mile mark and sent in a sample to Blackstone. Happy to share when the results are available, expected in the next week or so.
I did the exact same thing as I know it costs $2K+ to replace with OEM glass and with the near vertical rake the likelihood of a rock chip breaking the glass over the next 4-5 years was high enough to justify the warranty.
I purchased it as I was wanting to reduce glare as well as minimize fingerprints/smudges on the touch screen. The first time I tried to install I t didn't come out well with visible bubbles that never went away. I called and they sent me a replacement which was installed with no issues...
I changed my oil just prior to the 1000 mile mark, no need to keep assembly lube and initial break-in materials in the oil for 5-10K miles . Nothing of concern in the oil but I may send it off to Blackstone for their analysis.
You may be able to use some rubbing compound to take a good amount of that scuffing out of the paint. Up close you can really see how much orange peel is in a factory paint finish.
I have been trying to better understand the manufacturing debris issue with the V35A-FTS for a while now and I was struggling to understand why the problem occurred both in Alabama as well as in Tahara, Japan. Many speculated that this issue might be moreso related to the design of the main...
Fair callout, maybe not. Most owners will not likely use the hitch much if at all. At a minimum, Lexus needs to offer an option to remove the hideous malignancy on the back bumper for those that won't routinely use their GX tow.
Here's a snapshot of a GX in the Philippines with a much better valance cover for the trailer hitch. Why this was not standard in the US is beyond me. What Lexus gave us stateside is an aesthetic nightmare.
I checked in my area and the volume dealer that Costco works with is not an MSRP dealer and putting substantial markups on their vehicles so the Costco program currently isn't going to prove helpful in my area.
I am surprised that Lexus states no service internal for replacement of the transmission filter and oil. They reference at the end of the manual it is a sealed unit requiring no regular service but I know better than to drive it beyond 75-100K miles without servicing with new fluid/filter. No...
They mention having the TX at the show but they're tight lipped over the GX. I'm guessing they will have one or more GX 550 models at the show given how close the model is to be released.
Given that they do not sell above MSRP, I would venture to say that has alot to do with the size of their deposit list. Too many others imposing market adjustments.
Congrats on joining the deposit list. What number did they assign you on the list? I'm considering the Overtrail+ or Luxury+ and sitting at #357, I put my deposit down in early Sept.
Allocation figures from the dealer are estimated at 64-86/month, so only a little over 4 month wait. Not as bad as I thought. They are an MSRP dealer so that probably explains the large number of reservations.
Out of curiosity, when did you make your reservation? I put mine in last week with Longo and was told I am number 357. At the rate of production and dealer allocation I won't see one for 2-3 years....
Just secured a deposit ($500) through Longo Lexus in Southern CA for a '24 GX 550 (Luxury+ or Overtrail+). Waiting to confirm my position number. Was told that Overtrail should be available early in the year with Luxury+ in the March or April timeframe.
