Anybody else annoyed Lexus didn’t implement a capless fuel filler on the 2024 GX?! My 2019 Honda Civic Type R even had one FFS.

Ah here I thought everybody had done this by now.
Wow kinda sad this is what we have become.
My diesel Grand Cherokee came cap-less so I added one.
I'm not very familiar with cap-less systems but is there any thoughts that a system with a cap provides better protection keeping contaminants out of the fuel system since you can wipe the cap off prior to opening it ? Lexus designed this vehicle to spend time in the dirt.
I've never felt that having to deal with a fuel filler cap was an undue burden.

I always freak out when I pop open a capless fuel door on a new car and there's no cap. When I was in 7th grade, so about 12 or 13, I got a 3-day in-school suspension and to say I was in trouble at home is a severe understatement. My suspension started on a Monday and the weekend before, we were heading on a road trip. My dad made me fill up the station wagon with gas at the gas station and my dumb ass left the fuel filler cap on top of the station wagon. As we drove away my dad heard and saw it fly off roof when we pulled out of the gas station. I remember him looking at me almost with pity, like he was thinking maybe my problem was just that I was mentally handicapped. I have been scarred by gas caps.
My BMW and my wife’s top end Merc has a fuel cap, I think it makes a huge difference to keeping out contaminant's, especially in dusty hot countries like Australia or the Middle East, the dust gets in everything. There is no way I would want a cap less fuel system on my GX here in Aus.
This is true - I haven't done any long trips yet in the GX but in my past trucks the amount of dust and grime that would build up in the fuel door area was impressive.
I came from an XC90 that had an awesome capless system. Interestingly, my sales guy at Sewell said the design came from some research where safety concerns having to unlock the whole car to get to it on a capless system. Assuming they were dealing with full service vs. self service stations. Seems like a stretch but he was pretty adamant. I laughed.. 
If you have ever had a cap-less system you would definitely wonder why just as I have. The convenience of a cap-less is so nice it was the first thing I complained about on the GX I bought for my wife when I filled it for her. I like simplicity and speed no messing with a cap.
