I also plan to do a 1k and 5k mile oil change then send samples out to Blackstone for testing.
The oil testing idea is one I hadn't even considered, thanks for the idea.

The cleaning is likely done by a robot so it's easy to believe that the programming used on robots in Alabama and Japan are the same, hence recalls on engines coming from both places.[SNIP] ALSO those V35A-FTS engines are made in Alabama AND in Japan and the issue has come from both locations so I'm hesitant on it being a cleaning issue but hopefully it is that easy, we'll see. Or the manufacturing processes, which create excess debris, between the two plants were the same. The cleaning is likely done by a robot so it's easy to believe that the programming used on robots in Alabama and Japan are the same, hence recalls on engines coming from both places.
Please keep us posted on your results.... thank you! So far our GX's are not included in the (engine) recall so lets hope it stays that way. I am so impressed with my new GX it is a pleasure to drive!I also plan to do a 1k and 5k mile oil change then send samples out to Blackstone for testing.
26 closer than you think she’ll be coming around the cornerHuh, are you sure about this? You think a GX manufactured in early 2025 will be titled as a 2024 model??
Per my salesman: The registration and build my say 2025, but there will be NO factory assembly changes , new modifications, or new features on any GX until the 2026 version.
Great ideaThe dealers out here want to charge me ~$5k above MSRP, ~$3k of it is stuff sprayed from a bottle, so I'm out until the market cools down.
Tough choice to buy a vehicle the first year it's out. None of the kinks are worked out.I hear your pain. I want to buy one too but I am getting the jitters and might just wait until 2025 or 2026. (Spork18, I thought the Japanese Toyota Engines for the GX550 are made by Yamaha. (In Japan) Yamaha makes all of the Lexus engines for quite some time.) I could be wrong....
Wait, they are not going to leave the vehicle unchanged for 15 years like the GX 460?Huh, are you sure about this? You think a GX manufactured in early 2025 will be titled as a 2024 model??

Does Lexus cover the 1K oil change?I also plan to do a 1k and 5k mile oil change then send samples out to Blackstone for testing.
No, and they don't cover the 5k oil change either. The 5k service is tire rotation and a multi-point inspection. The first scheduled oil change is at 10,000 miles!Does Lexus cover the 1K oil change?
That's what I did! At least you know Toyota will use the right oil and filter.Well that stinks. Probably just take it to a Toyota dealership for the 1K change and not have to pay the Lexus premium surcharge.
