Well....I finally received my JW Offroad bumper tonight at 7:00 PM.

The design looks great from what I can tell looking at 2 boxes with about a dozen pieces in them. There is a very stout center section/winch tray and all the nuts & bolts in the first box (about 80 lbs) plus a second box (about 30 lbs) with the right and left outrigger sections of the bumper plus various brackets.

Unfortunately, the big 80+ lb box with the center section was beat to shit. The corners of the box were ground away and tattered. The box has clearly been dragged between stops. It's heavy....it was just about all I could do to lift it up and carry it from my front door to my garage. The bumper inside has the powder coat scratched & rubbed off and gouged in many places. The two front recovery points (the sharpest points on the bumper) are rubbed down to metal. The bumper face itself is rubbed down to metal. I don't know what the f*ck you'd expect shipping an 80+-lb piece of metal in cardboard with only bubble wrap to protect it.

The smaller 30-lb box had all the various pieces excellently wrapped and they are all fine, just a few rubs on one of the outriggers that must have happened before it was shipped.

I'll have to decide what to do. I paid $300 extra for the powder coat and I'll be touching it up with every day black paint if I keep the bumper. I was looking forward to a good powder coat to keep the bumper protected from the elements. As it was received, the spots ground down to metal will rust in no time, even in the dry Arizona desert.

I'm hesitant to return it because I don't want to wait months for shipping a new one with the promise that it'll ship "in the next couple days."

Really bummed right now....

Mate that blows, I would be returning it and asking for a more effective delivery solution going forward as every time you walk past the car you are going to see the damage or feel the pain of what you had to do to try and fix it.
Waiting a few more months to get a close to perfect product that you ordered will be worth it! 👍👍👍

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I would return it and wait it out if you really want the bumper or just get a straight refund. I'm sure the return will be an adventure too.

Ahhhhh....I decided to man up and just go with it. That's pretty much how I live my life.......give it your best and then just go with it.

I'll strap on a pair of balls and just touch it up with my Testors black model paint. Normally I'd be like, "Who cares, let's go bash it against some rocks" but the reality is that I won't be bashing this Lexus against the rocks. Therefore, I wanted to have a perfect bumper because I doubt I'll even scrape it on rocks. Even if I do scrape it or bang it on rocks, I paid a full-price $300 for powder coating and it's damaged. If powder coating was part of the base price, no big deal at all. But if you're gonna charge me 3 bones for it, then it damn well better be perfect.

I'll communicate with the vendor and start the installation process this week. So far, JW Offroad has been a pleasure to work with. I'm sure they'll be upset that the prep and shipping didn't protect the center section.

They might even refund some of the powder coating fee or offer you a discount on something else. 👍
