Port Install Accessory Left over

I know when GX550s are built, they come with running boards. I am 100% sure that rock rails are port installed. When these are installed, what do they do with the leftover running boards ?

Additionally when you buy rock rails after delivery, i get to keep the original running board for the same price.

Good question, but I think that's already figured into price for the PIO. Great idea to have both!
Similarly, what do they do with the extra wheel nuts when the wheel locks are installed? Would be nice to have them as a backup, just in case something happens along the way (like losing the key), or you just want to switch back to standard wheel nuts. Those wheel locks IMHO are nothing but trouble. If someone really wants your wheel(s) that lock won't stop them!

I asked that of my sales associate. He said that if you order a PIO, the location keeps the removed hardware. I then asked if I could have the rock rails 'not' installed, and just put inside the vehicle. He said he didn't think that was an option, so I then said I didn't want the rock rails. So he got them deleted from the order.

And yes, if you can buy them from Lexus, they're about the same price as being an installed option, but you get to keep the original running boards. That's what I'll do down the (off) road.

Sounds like they are skimming parts from the customers and it would be a nice price on line “ unused”.
