Squealing Brakes 550 Overtrail

At least Lexus has stepped up and is fixing the problem. Just takes a while for the parts to arrive. My repair has been perfect.
Contrast that with Toyota, which denies there is any problem with brake squeal on the Land Cruiser. Toyota will have to make it right but disappointing they haven’t followed Lexus’ lead on this.

I noticed that my Overtrail brakes started squealing in reverse only while I was in San Diego last week. I barely drove 20 miles the whole week in SD so I attribute it to the moist salt air. I'll have to see if it's gone away now that I'm back in AZ.
I live in San Diego, on the coast. We have had a lot of foggy mornings and moist days. My OT brakes will squeak coming down the driveway first thing but once, i get going their quiet. So moisture will cause some squeaking but it should go away pretty quickly. Living here you just get used to that.

Do you have any experience with CRC regarding its long term durability? This is the first time I've used it but I've spoken to multiple technicians and product engineers and they all say it's supposed to last the life of the pads if applied and cured correctly.
Pretty sure Lexus replaced the front rotars and pads. I’d have to look at service ticket. No experience with the gel you used.

I figure I used 8000 miles of brakes, and they slapped on brand new updated parts for free… why not do it.

These are all first year quirks. If Lexus wants to keep replacing used parts for free brand new upgraded ones at zero labor cost, I’ll take it all day baby

Yeah, my dealer was supposed to replace my front rotors and pads a week ago, however, they received the rotors but still waiting on the pads, so I had to postpone. They ordered everything about 4 weeks ago, so the pads are definitely taking a while to get in for them.

I did a recording of mine that was insanely loud, but it's intermittent and worse after they get wet. My dealer ordered the parts and I fully expect them to replace them even if thet aren't very noisy the day I take it in.

@SethGX I think you are in the clear considering that the dealership already ordered your parts.
My dealer replaced the front brake components when my OT was in for the 5K service. Doubt they heard any brake squeal as it only occurred in the morning on first trip backing down the driveway. But I had called to report it when making the service appointment and fortunately they had the parts available. Zero squeal now.

How long did it take you guys to get your brakes? This week is week seven from when I took it in and their service department is telling me 3 to 4 more weeks. It’s damn embarrassing backing up every time.
I’m due for my 5K service but told him I’m not gonna bring it until the brakes are in

2 weeks after i told them i had a squeal, they had my brakes in and fixed. This was 2 - 3 months ago. Gave me a TX as a loaner

They told me they are only allocated something like one set per week for this recall.

My OT+ first started squeaking in reverse @about 800 miles after getting a full wash/detail. It has been intermittent since when wet. No squealing in drive and once the brakes are heated up nothing in reverse. Dealer is three hours away…so just living with the occasional squeal for now. Kinda like the hood flutter..I just see it as a quirk of the vehicle…no big deal as long as it doesn’t get worse…

About a month since they ordered the replacement parts when I called to make my 5k service appointment. I live about 180 mikes from the closest dealership…. Hang in there!
