👋 Welcome to the Lexus GX 550 Forum! Please post an introduction thread!

Hello from New Jersey. Just picked up my Incognito Premium from Wilmington, Delaware on the 21st. Have had 15 plus Hondas, 3 Audi, 3 VWs, and still have a Tesla Model Y. Traded my 2000 Passport Touring in for the GX. First Lexus and so far so good. No proximity locking when you leave the cars is annoying, but I will adjust.

First post, checking in to say hi and Happy New Year!

Looking forward to learning more about your experiences and mods to your GXs. My current truck (I know- debatable but to me, body on frame is truck) is a tastefully modified 2017 4Runner which I am quite happy with but pretty much a done deal in my mind next up will be a GX550- they look like a great vehicle!

New 4Runner and LC have all but been ruled out if for no other reason than the hybrid battery location. There's no way I could see out the back with the kennels in place raised higher.

Cheers!

That's exactly the reason I went with the GX over the new LC. I need room for 2 large dog kennels and that battery hump just makes it a no-go.

Hello, new member here. I actually work in sales at a Lexus dealership in Houston. I have been with Lexus and Toyota for a while now. I have always heard customers talk about this forum and decided to check it out.

I am open to any questions if anyone is interested. If people are interested in availability in Texas, I can also help with that. Assuming there is a lot of interest I can do a post that updates with available inventory to help those who are in the market.

Happy 2025

Welcome to the forum @jctct from Austin. I would certainly be interested in a dedicated thread with updated inventory! Are you guys selling them at MSRP currently?

Been interested in the GX 550 since it was announced in Spring 2023. Haven’t purchased yet, cross-shopping in no particular order:

Grenadier;
Defender 110;
G-Wagen 550;
Cayenne S; &
GX 550.

Hello group! Finally signing up since my car is finally on the ship. Looks like a pretty knowledgeable group on here. Excited to learn and share the modding experience. Great to meet everyone!

Hi new to this Forum I have been a Toyota/Lexus owner for over 40 years. My first Toyota was a 1977 Corona. The last two was 1999 4Runner which I kept for 11 years. Then I bought the new 2010 4Runner. Had It for 12 years. Looking to get back in a 2025 Gx 550 or a 2025 4Runner this year. Which one to you all think I should get. I am looking at the GX550 Premium + or the 4runner Platinum. I don't like the engines in either one. So need help Thanks

Hi guys, Just bought my 2024 OT+ last Friday.
I understand the 2025 OT will be $3,500 costlier and will have a 1" lift and a built in compressor, neither of which are of much value for my intended use.
I consider myself to be a car enthusiast and have owned the 1994 Toyota Supra Turbo, the 1994 Acura NSX, hardtop, manual, the S2000, the 2008 GTR and the 2021 Porsche 911 Turbo.
I have owned three Toyota Landcruisers (first was a 80 series and the other two the 200 series).
Happy to report that the ride of the GX is that of a true Landcruiser.
The current model hybrid Landcruiser is a far cry from the original and true Landcruisers. One test drive was enough to move my away from that option.
The Lexus LX600 is a true 300 series LC but I find it a bit too big and ponderous.
The GX seems to be the perfect replacement for the true LC.
There are some teething issues being reported but nothing major and I am sure Lexus will take care of any real issues, as they always do.
Hope to have fun being part of this forum.

Howdy from Dallas, TX! We’ve got a deposit down on an Overtrail Plus for early March delivery. Currently have a 2018 4Runner ORP and 2022 Supra. The GX will replace my wife’s Honda Passport, which had an unfortunate demise recently. Then when she’s bored with the GX, it will replace my 4Runner as the camping & off-roading rig.
