👋 Welcome to the Lexus GX 550 Forum! Please post an introduction thread!

Hello!

New forum member and first time Lexus owner. After almost 10 months on the allocation list, finally got our OT+ Atomic Silver. It's my wife's primary driver, I have an F-150 Raptor for mine. Right now, finding excuses to drive the GX; It's a great little vehicle. For introduction:
  • Avid skier (measure of enthusiasm, not necessarily proficiency)
  • Avid mountain biker--downhill and enduro
  • Split time between Omaha, NE and the back range in Colorado (Grand County)
  • Love the outdoors, moderate to difficult off-roading (not extreme)

Hello from Chester, NY.... close to NYC. I get a new car for myself every 8-12 months... this last one is 4 months old.

I am getting out of a 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz with 3000 miles on it. My wife has a 2024 NX350. I had a 2024 NX350 Lux before the Santa Cruz. I also have a 2024 Jeep Rubicon for sunny warm day driving only.

Here are some of the cars I have had over the years.....

I also have a half dozen motorcycles.

In 2 weeks a Incognito GX P+ is being delivered for me. I am SUPER EXCITED to get it.

New member here from Florida. We got our GX just before Christmas. I’ve browsed the forums for a few months. Just officially joined tonight. We have a Blue Luxury. Love it so far, except I smacked the garage door tonight with the lift gate spoiler. I might be sleeping on the couch tonight, wife is ready to kill me lol.

Hello, my name is David and I’m from Massachusetts. I recently purchased the 2024 Lexus GX 550, and I’m absolutely loving it so far. This is my first Lexus, as I’m coming over from BMW, and I have to say, the transition has been fantastic.

I’m looking forward to learning more about the GX 550, sharing experiences, and connecting with fellow Lexus enthusiasts.

Picked up a few weeks ago and loving it so far. Only modifications done were 50% window tint and larger 275/70r18 Nitto TG G3’s. With the extra inch these 25’s have, the 265’s just didn’t look like they matched. The 275’s look great and are the largest SL rated AT tire I could find.

Hello GX550 Forum! Mark here, owner of Metal-tech 4x4 in Oregon. I have been building Lexus 4x4s since 200,1 when we made sliders for the LX450. Since then, we designed the original GX470 rear airbag to coil spring conversion kits and the first actual bolt-on armor for them. Of course, lots of love for the GX460 over the years. I am considering getting a 550 or other Prado 250-based vehicle for the shop. In the meantime, looking for anyone in the Pacific Northwest, close to us, with a 550 and willing to work with us for development. We have had one in the shop for bolt-on slider development, but need a 2nd one to verify universal fit-up.

If anything, I'm looking forward to seeing and hearing what 550 owners want to do with their amazing rigs.

Good stuff!

Hello GX550 Forum!

After 10+ months of waiting, picked up my ‘25 OT in Nori grn w/black roof a few weeks ago. Only mods so far are swapping the OEM rack and rails for the Sherpa Atlas (install was pretty smooth) and adding some requisite dog hair to the interior as my lab and I have started exploring a few backroads. It’s a fun ride and going to play a bit more before making any calls on new rubber, bumpers, winch, etc. Just want to make adds for what I need vs. what I thinking may need 😏

Enjoyed reading the posts so far and looking forward to more!

After a 3 month wait, we picked up my wife’s Caviar/black & olive 2025 OT+ last Thursday. Now… I wait 5 years before I take it over. Until then, my 4Runner has been demoted to the driveway. 😞

Hello!

I’m a prospective GX550 Lux+ (technically executive as I’m in Canada) owner residing in Vancouver, BC. This will be my first BOF vehicle but I’m excited about the possibility the GX will unlock for me in my outdoor adventures. I plan on taking this truck skiing, camping, rock climbing, and all the fun stuff in the PNW. One of the first things I plan on doing is installing a Sherpa roof rack even though I won’t be off roading (for now) as I love the endless possibilities it enables (awning for camping, cargo box, skis, climbing crash pads etc.)

Hello GX550 Forum. I am currently trying to get an allocation of a GX550 Premium in Atomic Silver seems like it's going to be a challenge in South FL, but I enjoy challenges.

I currently Own a Jeep Gladiator. The Gladiator will be repurchased by FCA under Lemon law buyback next week. It was a nightmare ownership experience, but the Jeep was enjoyable; however, it's let down by poor quality.

I had considered the Ford Bronco, but after test-driving the GX550, there's no comparison. GX550 & Ford Bronco are commonly compared, although they are significantly different product offerings.

I look forward to the wealth of information the GX550 Forum provides as I prepare for my GX to arrive.

Angelo

Hey everyone,
I am new to the forum. I have been wanting a GX550 for a while and finally got one last week. I am super excited. I have been a Toyota enthusiast for a long time.
I lived in Colombia (South America) during the 80's and learned to drive there with an FJ40 1982 Land Cruiser. While there we had several FJ40's and FJ60 models. Then in 2015 we got a new Land Cruiser and as expected, it has been the best vehicle we have ever owned and will keep it forever. With that said, we were excited about the new Land Cruiser, but were disappointed they are only V4. So, we went with the GX and have been thrilled so far.
Anyway, pretty excited to be on the forum, get to know everyone, and learn from everyone so I maximize the enjoyment of my vehicle.

Hello! New 2024 GX550 Luxury+ owner and first-time Lexus purchase. Just upgraded from my 2008 Nissan Versa, so definitely loving everything about it so far. Looking forward to being a part of the community.

wanted to say hi. Just picked up my 2025 Overtrail + in Incognito here in the Bay Area. A few mods coming in the next few weeks.

Hi, new forum member on the left coast with a ‘24 OT+ in Earth which I bought last year. Just under 10K miles now. Overall very happy with the GX. Very comfortable for distance travel and very capable on the trails and in the snow.

My name is Nathan and I'm from SE Iowa along the Mighty Mississippi River. I purchased a GX550 Luxury+ to replace my BMW X5. I will miss the sportiness of the X5 but look forward to a more problem-free vehicle.

Hello from Colorado, picked up my 2025 Incognito OT yesterday. Was on the wait list close to a year. It replaced my 2018 Tundra and feels so much better!
No plans on doing anything big as far modifications aside from wheels/tires, roof rack, and maybe a level.
