Wescott level kit DIY

Haven’t installed the Westcott kit but I have done the Peak Suspension top spacer (front only) kit with my dad on a lift and it was a major pain bolting the control arm back on the spindle. This took the longest for us to do during the install. I’m sure it’s possible to do on jack stands but would be very annoying.

How long did it take you? The concern is I have to finish within 5 hours lol

I did mine myself. Disclaimer, I work on and sell Caterpillar heavy equipment. First front strut took an hour. After that was 1 hour to do the other and the rear. I know Westcott may not like me saying this but , this is NOT a good DIY project. First off there is the wire that comes out of the top of the front strut. It is a major pain in the butt to disconnect, I would venture most people would break it. Next before you can take the plastic dust cover they show in the video off the shock body there is a retaining ring on the shock rod to knock off. Not an easy task if you are not familiar with that kind if thing. When reassembling the strut you have to guide the wire back through the spring plate and line the plate up with the square on the shock rod. The lower control arm nut/bolts have the be loosened up to let the arm drop down to get the strut out. I used a 3/4" drive breaker bar that is about 3 ft long. These babies are TIGHT!. I just don't think 9 out of 10 people could complete this in their driveway/garage at home. A lift is almost a must have.

With all that being said, if you attempt it good luck. I am in Kentucky or I would gladly pay Westcott $800 to do it. "Your/My time is worth something plus if you get it half torn apart in your driveway/garage then decide you can't do it, then what?
