GX550 30 Day Stop Sale?

I hear you. But the real concern (mine anyway) isn't flapping paint protection film or the sunroof, it's the bearing issue. Super low mileage engine failure isn't a "minor bug" ;)
Oh, I'm sure the QC hold isn't bearing related. They still have some time yet before they have to address that on the GX, since it typically hasn't happened till 20k + miles. 🤣

But seriously, there won't be any engine swaps at port, so it isn't an engine issue.

Is there a slight chance that they’ll give a discount or throw something in for those having to wait and change our plans because of their issue. I sold my Tahoe since they showed me it was already making the journey to Texas (had a private buyer who was paying an unbeatable price so didn’t want to let it go).

I understand being grateful that they caught and are fixing it but we need a little surprise and delight right now imo.

In the exact same boat here and also still paying the insurance premium on the vehicle I sold so I don’t lose all the discounts.

Also starting to flirt with having to get a new rate locked in for financing, not to mention rescheduling the tint/ceramic/roof wrap I scheduled for weeks after my “no later than” promised delivery date.

Fortunately we have an extra vehicle so it could be much worse, just frustrating.

I was initially (when I put my deposit down) told Jan / Feb for delivery, then it moved to June / July. Now possibly August / September. Thinking of just waiting more and getting a 2025.

I was considering that strategy also, but I’m sure that I would be paying more for the 2025 and getting less $ for my 2010 GX trade.

Our OT+ has been at the Alliance railyard (FtW, TX) since the 21st. Our salesman told me, this morning, it's due to some of the sunroof drain hoses having kinks in them. This exact issue has kept me from getting the sunroof in my last two F250's -- Ford doesn't seem to care to take the time to double check them (or correct the installation process), they just continue to fix them under warranty after you find standing water in your truck.

Not sure if this is normal or related to the hold, but since I have my VIN (waiting on delivery and stuck in 30 day hold) I plugged it into the Lexus app and it showed a Vehicle Stability Control fault. Anyone else seen this or have any insight?

Reached out to my dealership today and asking for any update or if he knew if it was all GX's on hold or just certain trims and options. His response was "It's been a number of GX's, nothing specific. It's a field inspection (FI means Field, not final inspection)and that's all they are telling us right now".

He also text me a pic of his screen showing 3 premiums, and 7 premium+'s in "FI" status. Interestingly it also has 2 RX350's also in FI status at the top of the screen. Guessing there are a bunch more GX's on the list in other trims as in the filters at the top of what I can see of his screen in the pic it says "45 Vehicles" with the filters he has selected being "NON-FLEET" and "FI".

Wonder what the RX350 could possilby share with the GX550? At least the RX's have the 1.4L turbo so my wishful thinking hopes that means it's not an engine issue putting these vehicles on hold...

Looks like I am bumping back our tint/ceramic appointment regardless.

If there is a positive spin to all of this - how many other car mfrs would just let the cars go on the lot and not put them into further inspections. Ineos did that with the new Grenadier and really screwed the customers. Lexus in my book continues to do the right thing here - if we all have to wait - the product will be better for us in the long run.

Lexus being tight lipped is probably nothing new. Toyota has been tight lipped for years. Both GX and Land Cruiser forum customers are griping about not knowing what the QC hold is about, but the new Tacoma launch had a similar month long QC delay after months and months of delayed release. And everyone on the Tacoma forums were griping about not knowing what the QC issue was.
I guess my question is - Is everyone concerned that Lexus/Toyota WON'T take care of its customers, including those that already took delivery, if an issue arises? And arent most of you glad Lexus/Toyota tries to get ahead of whatever issue? It amazes me the sheer numbers of folks who have to be some of the first to get ahold of a new model, then gripe about hiccups in the process or build of those very fist ones. For decades, the folks who could wait till year 2 were usually getting vehicles with all the minor bugs worked out. Patience, grasshopper(s). 😁
Lexus is #1 and Toyota #2 - we're not buying a Range Rover or Jeep that are all full of built in defects (both rank like #29 and #30 in quality)

The plot thickens… I’ll have to try my VIN!

How were you able to add the GX to the app? After I've entered my VIN the app won't proceed without entering an additional code from the "vehicles multimedia screen" either by scanning with my camera or entering the number manually. This actually makes very good sense security wise but wondering how you found a work around.

My overtrail+ at alliance rake yard for 2 weeks now. I kept pressing my dealer up to gm and they finally said my trim level was 100% a sunroof issue and not paint or motor
Wouldn’t or couldn’t provide what the fix is or timeline

No idea. It didn’t ask me for additional information. I’m not sure I have full access (can’t get location).

Specifically which app? I tried several with no luck…

On Apple Store this one is simple called Lexus.

This is the one I downloaded that was asking for QR code.

I also tried the Lexus Connect but it also shuts me down from even registering as the VIN isn’t officially attached to my phone number (ours is sitting in Long Beach at the port since 5/14)
