Mine looks exactly the same. If that’s the only issue you have with your GX550, congrats l! You are probably the minority without other headaches that some of us have on our GXs
Set up the addresses on your phone app.
try waiting on the app for a bit and see if it shows up? happened to me as well but it’s random, sometimes, I had to wait for 20-30s on the Lexus app or nav display before home or fav show up. I am just going to stick with CarPlay . With the new nav...
Did the same thing as Yellowlab on our Premium Plus platform rack. Wrapped paracord on the front and it substantially reduced wind noise when cruising 60-75+ mph. Doesn't eliminate the noise but it makes the car so much more bearable driving on the highway. This is a tried and true...
Have you driven a LX570, LX600 or GX460? I have and the they all have BOF chassis and are smooth with non of the roughness of the GX550. This has nothing to do with unibody as the engine is rough at idling.
Edit: I agree that the unibodies with be smoother, I wasn't trying to compare the...
Just got our GX back from the dealership. It was the same problem as yours. There was something loose within the inside front passenger door handle/latch They even brought in a Lexus factory tech to check and test drive. I don't think this is a coincidence but I am sure they will fix it on...
Just got our GX back from the dealership. The dealership brought in a Lexus factory tech/specialist to take a look (was told they are based in the region and goes from dealership to dealership to help diagnose and solve problems). Was told the idling aka "roughness" is "normal".
Meanwhile...
With debates on oil change intervals elsewhere, here is another pointless one, who has ventured into using regular 87 octane gasoline on their GX550? Keep it friendly please :)
Some of you articulated the vibration better than my original post lol
When Lexus sends out the new owner surveys, might be a good idea to highlight this vibration to them. I received ours earlier this week, it was fun typing in all the problems and shortcomings, although I would still buy...
Interesting, thanks for the insights and sorry to hear about the long wait times and lack of OEM accessories. Could also be due to Australia being right hand drive and Toyota/Lexus pushing for higher volumes for US/Canada and other left hand drive markets .. economies of scale?
Curious how popular is Lexus as a brand Down Under? Are they as popular or more popular as the German manufacturers such as BMW, Mercedes Audi?
Over here in the USA, Lexus almost outsells all of the German manufacturers in most categories.
Our Premium Plus had a rattling front passenger door since day one. Sometimes its louder, sometimes its faint, sometimes its quiet, but when it appears, its annoying. When we play music with deep bass, it becomes more apparent, like there is a lose screw or object behind or near the door. Car...
Have you considered using the the radio/music option programmed into one of the three custom main driving display screens? At least this would allow you to see the stations/songs/artist and you can use the "mode" button on the steering to change source.
Not sure if it's funny, apologies in advance. True story though..
Me (with the service advisor at the dealership for my 1k oil change): By the way, the platform rack wind noise is really loud, is there any way to make it more quiet?"
Advisor: "Its a large rack, it will be noisy"
Me: "Can...
I am getting 20-21 mpg on highway, with 1000+ft elevation changes 65-80mph with our Premium + with OEM platform rack.. I don't think it's that much? More of the AT tires I would think or could be the HVAC? I am using Shell V Power.
If it's similar to other Lexuses, you need to drive it on the highway for an extended time (I can't remember exactly how long - check the manual) before it resets. Happens to me every time I switch out to winter tires, sometimes it takes a short 10-15min drive, sometimes it took hours before it...
It is all of the above. When it's moving, I don't notice it. Probably it's the design and setup of the engine with the BOF chassis. My GX is currently at the dealership for my 1,000 miles oil change and to fix some rattling on the door, I mentioned to them to check on the idling. They will...
Congrats!
Nice pair of his and hers GX and LC. Careful your wife might be switching keys with you soon for the GX :)
Interesting, I didn't know Lexus doesn't have a dealership in VT. I would have thought they would have at least a dealership in Burlington or White River Junction.
Not related to the Overtrail vibration issues, anyone else noticed if you GX550 engine/vehicle vibrates when idling from start? Coming from owning various Lexus V6s close to 20 years - ES300, ES350, RX300, RX350 and also a V8 GX460, I find our GX550 is the most "un-Lexus" like experience while...
Bumping this thread - anyone else have some feedback to share on the rear heated seats?
Are they fast to warm and stay warm?
Premiun + owner here. Picked up vehicle Sept 2024.
Ventilation - its fall season, haven't tested the limits of cooling but it does seem to be "weaker" compared to Land...
Damnit Lexus, from the review, the Aussie Overtrail version seems to have separate rear AC controls and the air vents above the door (cue to 11 minute mark on video) just the like Premium/Luxury trim in the USA. Why did Lexus USA shortchange us with the lack of air vents on our US overtrail...
275 65 18 Blizzak DM V2s for New England and Canada. Limited choices for 265 70 18s winter tires at the moment unless you go for heavier duty truck tires. For the driving we do in the snow, ATs won’t work for us.
Here’s a preview of my setup. Method 316 18x9 +18. I need to switch out...
