🧑‍💻 GX550 Tech Tips and Tricks

Just like the instant gas mileage meter - it goes from zero to 60. What a joke. It should go from zero to 20 so you can actually use it as a meter.

Instead of being a bar i wish it just showed the current mpg as a number. The bar is very hard to use for anything meaningful.

Seems to me the only time any "current mpg" thingy is useful is if you're cruising on a highway and want to know the diff between 60 and 65mph or something. In any other scenario it's basically worthless. Stomp on the fast pedal and it goes toward zero, coast and you're exceeding the mfg mileage claims.

While not on a Lexus, there have been times where I've looked at instantaneous MPG on a highway when driving into a headwind or up an incline. But that's really just curiosity, like you said there'd almost no real value in that display.

Nope. They had it a week and said national back order for brakes, no fix for hood and they can’t replicate my lumbar deflating…
Fantastic. Yeah, I need them to get my passenger lumbar and. Massage working too. Those are my three issues.

So it’s a brakes issue? Just another manufacturer and they should be good?

Is there a way to remove Amazon Music and Apple Music from the list of music sources? I don't have either of these subscriptions and would love to not have to tap through them with the Source button. I would like the option to remove them, but cannot find that option anywhere....

I do love my car!

And the last key fob trick I know of is to hold down the unlock button for a few seconds and that will cause all the windows to roll down and the moonroof (if equipped) to open.
Do you know of a trick to get it to roll up the windows when locking?

Here is a VERY thorough tutorial That just got posted on all things GX550. It has chapters so you can find something specific rather than watch the entire 2 hours and 41 minutes.

I went through this entire tutorial today with my new OT+. It was perfect for what I needed. Definitely worth the time and the index lets you skip portions that may refer to features your GX might not have. Thanks for sharing!

fun trick.

If you switch your settings between l/100km and mpg in the fuel economy units page. You can also switch the gauge cluster between kph and mph. Not intuitive but it does work!

Been hunting for this for a while and finally found the right setting.

I've noticed the 550 Auto climate works a little different compared to our 460. Its 42 outside and sunny. I have climate set to Auto 68* and it blows full hot I'm assuming to get the cabin up to that temp. Its uncomfortable though. I had to crank it down to 63-64 to get semi comfortable air flowing. I've fiddled with the S-flow and Concierge mode etc. Its all about the same. Is this the new norm? Overly sensitive cabin temp sensor? Our 460 was left in auto 72 ish degrees about year around without a thought. It was always comfortable in the summer and cold winters. Having to think a lot more about this for being an auto climate control ha.

Mine is about the same. Sometimes 68 is WARM!

Thanks for sharing! The Lexus app remote start seems to only work like 75% of the time for me.. It seems to be working more consistently as of lately though.

For the all windows roll down trick- was the vehicle started when you held down the unlock button? I couldn't seem to get this one to work
I had trouble with the starting my gx until I realised had had to lock the doors 1st! Makes sense.
