One of the major complaints and also what steered me away from the current VW Golf R was a complete lack of buttons.
I dislike the temperature dial on the GX. I like the aesthetics but would prefer a more definitive "click."
At highway speeds it was definitely noticeable and sounded like driving through a cross wind of ~30 mph. With the crossbars removed it's how it should be for a 5500 lb brick at 80 mph.
Of course after I've changed all the settings we've been getting rain and overcast and I doubt we'll run into hot weather for the rest of the year. I completely forgot to ask the dealership about the AC.
They were able to turn off the fake engine noises but said corporate wouldn't allow them...
Clicked over 1K miles this week and filled up again today with hand calculated 16.5, OT+. Wife drives it mostly around town and has a heavy foot.
It's pretty much close to what my Tacoma gets, which has significantly less torque, isn't full time 4WD, weighs a bit less less and on smaller...
That's turned off as well. It's going into the dealership tomorrow to fix some poorly installer PPF. Should be a good chance to ask about it along with asking them to disable the annoying seat belt chime and artificial engine noises.
The temperature output at the vents are actually fine. It's the fan that seems to be weak.
In most vehicles with the AC set to auto it's a set and forget procedure. In my work Tahoe and personal Tacoma I leave it at 70. When I get in the them after they've been parked in the sun for a while...

Crossbars from our OT. Unknown if it works on other models. Pulled them off at 600 miles and don't have a use for them. The caps and fasteners are obviously included. Located in the greater Houston area. Thanks!
Neither are physical keys to unlock and start our vehicles but here we are connecting with strangers across the country with devices that fit in our pockets discussing our semi-luxury trucks.
The orange peel paint is disappointing. Time will tell if it's thicker and less delicate than what's applied on my made in Mexico Tacoma, but based on appearance alone the finish isn't premium.
I didn't want to completely remove the roof rack, just the crossbars to alleviate the wind noise and the above linked video didn't detail those options so I got around to taking a look. You'll need a trim removal tool and a 5mm hex bit and accompanying ratchet. Shouldn't take more than 10...
There are additional AC settings? I'm finding the GX has the be set lower than other vehicles to be as comfortable.
I keep my Tacoma and work Tahoe at 70 and it does a great job keeping me cool. With the GX even my wife has to turn it down to 66 for it to feel comfortable.
Were you able to reinstall the plastic panel perfectly? I was having a hard time getting all 4 clips to align and stay clipped so I removed both panels from the windshield to have a better look.
With both removed I hoped I could get more room to work and figure it out. I still couldn't align...
