Can we hear from OT & OT+ owners who DON'T have vibration / ride issues?

Thanks everyone. As someone with an OT allocation coming up in spring of '25 this is encouraging! I was begiining to re-consider a Defender.

Keep the feedback coming!

The challenge on all these forums is that you really hear the negatives more than the positives. The complaints get posted, but often those with no problems at all aren't motivated to post about 'nothing'.

It's therefore sometimes difficult to keep it all in perspective and unfortunately does much to compromise the overall perception of the vehicle.

I've had my OT+ for 2 months now, with 1,250 miles put on it.
I have heard the brakes squeak only for a second and only occasionally when I back out of the garage when it's cold. If not a huge talking point in the forums, I likely wouldn't have given it a second thought.

I've also had the infotainment screen occasionally stick in day or night mode opposite of when it's supposed to. I assume this will be refined via an OTA fix, or a software update at a service appointment, but certainly is nothing compared to the constant gremlins in and out of Land Rover infotainment systems.

None of the other issues like hood flutter, vibrations while driving, ML sound system quality, HVAC frustrations, seat operations frustrations, etc have been present. I'd be willing to bet I am the norm far more than the exception.

I also think the GX550 and LC250 are unfortunately and improperly compared to the 200 Series LC, which is unfair considering very few ever compare it to the outgoing GX460. It isn't a 300 series. It wasn't intended to be.

Ultimately, It's a doggone nice vehicle, properly priced and properly fit and finished for the 2025 state of the automobile industry and the regulatory, economic, environmental, etc impacts we have experienced. I don't think its fair to take a dump on the GX550 and LC250 for an industry wide evolution.

Whereas it is not perfect, I have in the past 10 years had three 200 Series Land Cruisers (2016 new + lightly used 2013 and 2015), a new Range Rover Sport, a BMW X5, a new Rivian R1S, and now the new GX550 and it's as successful and quality, if not more (I'm looking at you, BMW and Range Rover, haha), than any of those, and I assure you not one of them were perfect either.

It's handsome, it's fun, it turns heads, it's high quality, it's a Lexus, and it checks more combined boxes balancing luxury, offroadiness, performance, and sporty than anything else I have had.

Don't let the forums dissuade you or take the joy out of your purchase!

From a reliability and resale perspective - can't think of a single reason to buy a LR over a Lexus.
I enjoyed the 2019 Range Rover Sport HSE I had, but I also hated the constant reboots of the infotainment system, the reporting of 30 codes thrown by every single oil change, and the constant fear that 'today is the day' it turns into a pile of crap. By 59,000 miles, I just couldn't do it anymore and bought the 2013 and 2015 LC200's and waited for the Rivian and now the GX550 to come out.

It felt like a $95,000 car when new, and I loved the fit and finish and the design, but it just wasn't worth the headache and stress of what a Land Rover mechanical product really is.

In contrast, I have always felt secure jumping into any of my Toyota / Lexus vehicles, including my 92 FJ80, and heading cross country.

I remember going to a meeting in Germany and going for a ride in co workers year old 2018 Aston DB11. Hardly a cheap car - and what one would expect the pinnacle of engineering. While my friend was driving about 140mph at night on the autobahn the dash suddenly went dark and the headlights went out - but the car was still running. A couple seconds go by (an eternity) and everything comes back on. My friend told me not to worry - "it does that from time to time."

How do you reset the total MPG? Couldn’t figure that out
Go to Vehicle -then Trip Information - then clear data to reset. Clear both current and history

Wow, this is way better than what I'm getting. Can you describe what you mean by modulating to the graph?

I keep my OT+ in eco and am generally not in a hurry (got used to taking it easy in my `17 4runner with hundreds of extra pounds of armor). But despite the casual driving style and eco setting, i'm lucky to top 17mpg for any given tank in the GX, and am typically between 15 and 16.5. I track mileage between complete fill-ups and always record the actual mpg (of course, this is only as accurate as the gas pump's auto-stop at 'full' is consistent, but should be pretty close). I also lean a little heavier to the highway side than your split. I would love to eek out a few more MPGs from this thing. Rides great, but this aspect is really a bummer.
Hey, sorry about using a funky word like modulate. What I mean is, as I accelerate, I watch the instantaneous mpg graph. Harder I push pedal, mpg graph decreases naturally. I am always in normal mode also. The mpg meter is very sensitive to foot pressure so It took my a long time to get used to it. As I accelerate I am constantly watching meter. I have dropped from 20.3 to 20.1 in the last thousand miles as I am starting to enjoy the twin turbo pick-up.

Speaking of my wife......on Christmas eve we went to her parents' house as usual. On the 35-mile highway drive down, my wife exclaimed, "This is a smooooooth truck." I did the hot breathe on my fingernails and then pretended to shine them on my nicely-pressed shirt.
